Laduree Laysen Valley KSA
Scope of Delivery
Interior Salon — Chairs — The Louis XVI medallion-back chair, in solid beech with vert d'eau finish and hand-applied antique gold leaf highlights. For Laysen Valley, the chairs were specified with an enhanced UV-blocking clear coat over the painted finish — invisible to the eye — developed to protect the vert d'eau pigment from the intense reflected light that enters through the retractable glass walls. The blush pink cotton velvet seat pads are the same as at Solitaire and Fayfa, piped in matching green, but here they are secured with a quick-release mechanism that allows the seat pads to be rotated or replaced seasonally as the terrace-side chairs experience faster fade cycles than those deeper in the salon.
Interior Salon — Tables — Custom café tables in solid beech, the carved apron echoing the chair medallions. For Laysen Valley, the tabletops return to Carrara marble, as at Solitaire — the stone's natural coolness a deliberate choice for a space where guests cross the threshold from the terrace heat. The marble is honed to a matte finish rather than polished, reducing glare and lending a softer, more tactile presence.
Garden Terrace — Chairs — The outdoor iteration of the Louis XVI chair, in marine-grade powder-coated aluminum. The vert d'eau and antique gold palette is faithfully reproduced in a four-layer outdoor coating system: white primer, vert d'eau base, hand-applied gold leaf effect on the carved highlights, and a final UV-stabilized clear coat. Each chair is stackable — a requirement for the terrace, where configurations shift between morning coffee, afternoon tea, and evening events. The seat pads are in the same blush pink, but executed in a solution-dyed acrylic outdoor velvet that resists fading, mould, and water absorption.
Garden Terrace — Tables — Outdoor café tables in matching powder-coated aluminum, with solid surface tops in a warm cream that remains cool to the touch even under direct afternoon sun. The table bases are weighted for stability in the valley's occasional gusts.
Private Salon — Booth Seating — A discrete enclosed salon for family gatherings, furnished with a custom blush pink velvet banquette in button-tufted panels. The banquette frame in solid beech with vert d'eau finish and antique gold beading. The seat depth and backrest angle are calibrated to the same generous proportions developed for the Fayfa Center banquette, at the request of the local design team.
Patisserie Counter & Retail Wall — The counter façade in solid beech, vert d'eau with gold-leaf paneling. The macaron display is arranged in a gently concave arc, drawing the eye inward. Integrated warm LED lighting at 2700K with a CRI of 97+ illuminates the jewel-toned macarons. The shelving glass is micro-etched with an anti-reflective coating. A full-height retail wall in matching vert d'eau paneling displays the signature Ladurée gift boxes, illuminated from above by a continuous warm LED strip.
Customization Highlights
The UV-blocking clear coat developed for the interior chairs is a nano-ceramic lacquer, applied as a final mist coat over the finished vert d'eau paint. It filters 98% of UV radiation without altering the color temperature or sheen of the underlying finish — a critical requirement for chairs positioned within two meters of the retractable glass walls.
The outdoor chair's four-layer coating system was tested to 3,000 hours of accelerated UV exposure with a Delta E color shift of less than 1.5 — ensuring the vert d'eau remains true to the Ladurée standard across seasons. The hand-applied gold leaf effect on the outdoor chairs was developed as a stenciled metallic ceramic undercoat, visible through a tinted clear topcoat, replicating the appearance of genuine gold leaf in a form that withstands outdoor conditions.
The quick-release seat pad mechanism is a concealed bayonet system — a quarter-turn engages or releases the pad from the chair frame — designed to be operated by Ladurée's service staff without tools, allowing seasonal pad rotation to evenly distribute wear and UV exposure.
Terrace tables were engineered with a micro-channel drainage system beneath the solid surface top, directing condensation and occasional rainwater away from the table base and preventing the water staining that mars outdoor furniture in humid or irrigated environments.
All outdoor metal components are fastened with 316L stainless steel hardware, selected for extended resistance to Riyadh's alkaline desert dust and the chlorinated water of the Laysen Valley fountains, which generate fine airborne mist.
