Laduree Fayfa Center

Scope of Delivery

Main Salon — Chairs — The Louis XVI medallion-back chair, in the same solid beech, the same vert d'eau finish, the same antique gold leaf highlights as its Solitaire counterpart. The Fayfa chairs, however, were specified at a subtly adjusted seat pitch — 5mm lower than the standard Ladurée chair — at the request of the local design team, who observed that the neighborhood clientele tended to linger longer and preferred a slightly more relaxed seating posture. The blush pink cotton velvet seat pads remain, piped in vert d'eau. Each chair frame was hand-finished by Dual Jade artisans, with the gold leaf applied in a slightly softer patina — less brilliant than Solitaire, more like the mellow gleam of old giltwood in a private home.

Main Salon — Tables — Custom café tables in solid beech, the apron carved with the same medallion echo. Tabletop surfaces specified not in marble, as at Solitaire, but in solid beech edged with antique gold beading — a warmer, less formal surface that the Fayfa team felt better suited the neighborhood character. The tables are finished in the same dual-coat vert d'eau system developed for the Solitaire project.

Window Banquette — A continuous upholstered banquette in blush pink cotton velvet runs the length of the Fayfa Center window frontage. Button-tufted in rhythmic panels, its proportions are generous — deep seats encourage side-by-side companionship and the kind of unhurried conversation that characterizes the neighborhood's late-afternoon rhythm. The banquette frame is solid beech in vert d'eau, with antique gold beading tracing the top rail. Each tufting button is hand-set and individually tensioned to maintain the precise dimple depth across the entire length.

Patisserie Counter & Retail Display — The counter façade in solid beech, vert d'eau with recessed gold-leaf paneling, is scaled more compactly than at Solitaire. The macaron display shelving is arranged in a semi-circular arc that draws the eye in from the mall concourse, the integrated warm LED lighting calibrated to a slightly lower color temperature — 2700K rather than 3000K — to reinforce the warmer, more domestic atmosphere. Wall-mounted gift box display units complete the retail zone.

Outdoor Terrace — A narrow terrace overlooking the Fayfa Center courtyard, furnished with the same marine-grade powder-coated aluminum café chairs and tables developed for Solitaire. The vert d'eau and antique gold palette continues outdoors, with the addition of retractable linen canopy blinds in a soft cream — a necessity for Riyadh afternoons, and a visual softening that further distinguishes Fayfa from its more formal counterpart.

Customization Highlights

The 5mm seat height reduction, while seemingly minimal, required recalibration of the chair's entire structural geometry — leg length, stretcher placement, and backrest angle — to maintain the integrity of the Louis XVI silhouette without compromise. Dual Jade's engineering team produced three full prototypes before the adjustment was approved.

The solid beech tabletops, developed as a Fayfa-specific variation, required a dual-coat matte lacquer capable of withstanding hot cups and condensation without watermarking, while retaining the tactile warmth of wood — a surface treatment that had to meet Ladurée's Paris hospitality standards.

Banquette tufting was executed at a deeper button recess than standard — 15mm rather than 10mm — to create the softer, more lived-in appearance the Fayfa team requested. A single senior upholsterer tensioned every button by hand across the banquette's full length to ensure absolute consistency.

Macaron display lighting was custom-calibrated to 2700K with a CRI of 97+, ensuring each jewel-toned macaron reads true to color under the warmer ambience. The shelving glass was specified with a micro-etched anti-reflective coating to eliminate the distracting glare that standard glass produces under retail lighting.

Outdoor terrace seating was further modified from the Solitaire specification: all fasteners upgraded to 316L stainless steel — the low-carbon variant preferred for extended exposure to the fine, alkaline desert dust of central Riyadh.
