Shanghai in early spring means one thing for the hospitality design world: Hotel & Shop Plus. The 2026 edition brought together architects, hotel developers, procurement directors, and interior designers from over 80 countries, transforming the Shanghai New International Expo Centre into a global hub of innovation. For Dual Jade Technology Co., Ltd., this was more than an exhibition — it was a home game, an opportunity to welcome industry peers to our city and showcase exactly what a dedicated hotel furniture exhibition China should deliver: tangible quality, honest craftsmanship, and furniture engineered for real commercial life.
Our Booth: A Living Showroom
Rather than a static display of catalog items, we designed our booth as a sequence of mini environments that mirrored actual hospitality spaces. Walking through, visitors experienced:
- A restaurant zone featuring our latest dining chairs arranged around custom tabletops, including the newly refined M-series side chairs with improved ergonomic profiling and stackable frames for high-turnover venues.
- A bar and lounge corner anchored by bar stools from the M2713, M2719, and M2726 series, paired with slim-profile metal bistro tables. The booth seating concept — a modular banquette with integrated power modules — drew particular attention from restaurant chain operators looking to optimize floorplans.
- A hotel guestroom vignette that showcased our complete headboard and bed base system alongside matching nightstands, a compact desk with a desk chair, and a luggage rack. The message was clear: one partner, one coordinated aesthetic, one seamless delivery.
- An outdoor terrace simulation with weather-resistant lounge chairs and side tables, demonstrating our ability to extend the guest experience beyond interior walls.
Every piece on display was production-ready, not prototype. Our philosophy is that what you see at the Shanghai hospitality expo is exactly what arrives at your loading dock — same materials, same finishes, same build quality.
Conversations That Shaped the Week
Over three days, our team held more than 200 substantive conversations with industry professionals. A few themes emerged clearly:
The demand for consolidation is growing. Procurement managers repeatedly expressed fatigue with juggling multiple suppliers for different furniture categories. The ability of Dual Jade to deliver dining chairs, sofas, guestroom casegoods, and outdoor pieces from a single manufacturing source resonated strongly. Several multi-property RFPs initiated at the show are already in our project pipeline.
Customization isn't a luxury — it's the baseline. Designers came armed with mood boards, fabric swatches, and detailed drawings. They wanted reassurance that we could match specific wood stains, create bespoke dimensions, and accommodate COM (customer’s own material) requests without compromising lead times. Our engineering team on site provided immediate feasibility feedback — a capability that differentiated us from less vertically integrated exhibitors.
Sustainability has moved from “nice to have” to “mandatory.” Conversations about FSC-certified timber, recycled metal content, water-based finishes, and end-of-life repairability were no longer niche. Hotel groups with ESG commitments needed evidence, not just claims. Our documentation of material certifications and our green manufacturing practices became a central talking point, underscoring the value of our earlier investments in sustainable processes.
Speed matters more than ever. With many projects rebounding from pandemic-era delays, clients wanted to know real production timelines, not optimistic estimates. Because we control the entire manufacturing chain in our Shanghai facility, we could offer reliable lead times backed by detailed production schedules — a confidence booster for developers facing tight opening dates.
Product Spotlights That Stole the Show
While our full portfolio was well represented, several pieces attracted exceptional interest:
- The newly redesigned commercial dining chair with enhanced lumbar support generated immediate sample orders from two international hotel chains. Its refined mid-century silhouette fit the “quiet luxury” trend dominating current hotel design briefs.
- The modular booth seating system with interchangeable end panels and electrical integration drew crowds from restaurant groups planning rapid multi-location rollouts. The promise of identical quality across dozens of sites — anchored by one manufacturer — proved compelling.
- The all-weather outdoor lounge chair, tested for UV stability and salt-spray corrosion resistance, became the unexpected star for resort developers from Southeast Asia and the Caribbean. Its aluminum frame and quick-dry mesh seating addressed pain points specific to tropical hospitality operations.
Insight: Where Hotel Furniture Is Heading
Beyond our own booth, walking the Hotel & Shop Plus 2026 floor offered insights into broader industry directions. Three stood out:
has matured beyond placing a potted plant next to a chair. Furniture itself now incorporates organic shapes, wood grains celebrated rather than disguised, and color palettes drawn from soil, stone, and moss. The demarcation between indoor and outdoor aesthetics is blurring.
is accelerating. Nightstands with embedded wireless charging, lobby seating with discreet USB ports, and conference tables with integrated cable management are no longer premium options — they are baseline expectations for new builds.
is asserting itself. Global hotel brands are increasingly allowing — even encouraging — local design influences in their furniture selections. This creates opportunities for manufacturers who can flexibly adapt standard designs to incorporate regional materials, motifs, or proportions.
For Dual Jade Technology, these trends validate our ongoing investments in design flexibility, material research, and our willingness to co-develop products with clients rather than simply offering an off-the-shelf catalog.
Gratitude and Next Steps
We extend our sincere thanks to every architect, designer, procurement director, and hotel operator who took time during a busy fair to visit our booth. Your questions challenged us, your projects inspired us, and your feedback is already shaping our next product development cycle.
If you missed us at the show — or if you'd like to continue a conversation we started — our Shanghai showroom is open year-round. We welcome individual visits or small-group presentations where we can dive deeper into your specific project needs, prepare tailored samples, and discuss how Dual Jade exhibition quality translates into your property’s daily performance.
Hotel & Shop Plus 2026 confirmed what we’ve long believed: that a globally competitive hospitality furniture manufacturer can be rooted in Shanghai craftsmanship, guided by international quality standards, and driven by genuine partnership with clients. We’re already looking forward to next year’s edition — but until then, we have furniture to build.
